I have a motherboard that requires DDR 3 Ram and I was considering modifing the DDR3 slot to insert DDR 2 Ram. They both have the same pinout just different voltage requirements (DDR 3 needs less voltage) and the notch has been moved. Have you tried or heard of anyone doing this?
If you meant "doing this successfully" the answer is no. But I know a fellow that filed down the circuit board to fit. So while he did do it, it didn't work. Since it is not supposed to work it's best to leave people that do that to suffer their losses in peace.

of DDR2 or DDR3, not sure I see a compelling reason to try it.
