Yes

I have own two

The one I have now is a RCA Peril 1GB. I like it as it came with the USB connector built in; unlike my old one that uses a cord. the only issue I have with it is that when ever I go look for a album or artiest the player will loop way too early. ( example I am looking for the AC/DC Stiff upper lip album; how ever I have to go though at least 10 other albums. Before I get to it but I will start repeating after the 5th one)

I do not remember the other right now other then it was 1GB. I had to replace it with my current one after it got wet and started to act-up on me (I did let it dry for a week before trying to use it). It did came with a strap so that you could have it on your arm.

No Ipod for me

by mamagull - 5/19/09 10:26 AM In reply to: Poll: Do you have an MP3 player? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

Bought a Creative Zen Vision M 30 g when they first hit the market - I was in LOVE. Used it constantly - listening to books mostly, but had playlists that were also well-worn. I don't like earbuds - have enough trouble with tinnitus; with earbuds in I can't hear surrounding noise. Have a good headphone set that works well, but most of the time I plug the Zen into a Logitech mm28 speaker. (Hubby thought I was crazy until he listened to it) When driving, I don't use headphones - the Logitech is perfect, and no fiddling with the radio.
Zen was less than 2 yrs old when it went black - never to work again. I contacted Creative, they wanted to look at it, so I sent it back. They sent me a refurb to replace it - and it too just died last month. No warning, no clues that it is going to crap out.

So I'm looking for a replacement. Do I want to stay with Creative? I think so - I'm comfortable with the software (mostly). Don't like the 'exclusive' aspects of either Apple or Microsoft products.
Time will tell....

Creative Zen + Shure 530 + Fiio 5 Headphone Amp

by Heuvel_Marketing - 5/20/09 2:00 PM In reply to: Poll: Do you have an MP3 player? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

This highly portable combination gives an excellent sound stage.

I really recommend to use a headphone amp, when using high impedance headphones like the Shure. There's a bunch of them at http://www.portable-amplifier.com.

No amp for me...

by make_or_break - 5/20/09 6:51 PM In reply to: Creative Zen + Shure 530 + Fiio 5 Headphone Amp by Heuvel_Marketing

When I was running E500/SE530s, I used to run with any number of headphone amps that I own but in the end the hassle and added bulk wasn't really worth it. In their day the SE530 was a great performer in its own right connected straight to the DAP or PMP. However, since stepping up to the Sennheiser IE-8, my poor Shure set is virtually unlistenable. Really hate when that sort of thing happens, but such is the way of high-fidelity...

I Pod, who needs one!!

by shot34ever - 5/25/09 3:09 PM In reply to: Poll: Do you have an MP3 player? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

I have a Zen X-Fi, and would not own an Ipod. I am completely satisfied with this Creative unit. Would like to see a better compatibility concerning accessories for the MP3 Players. Most accessories are only for the Apple Ipod. Sort of reminds me of Microsoft and their browser.

I Pod, who needs one!! Me, me, me me . . .

As I had hoped, I finally got my new iPod Touch the other day and am so in love with every aspect of it.
My husband is jealous, having a black Nano. But I felt I deserved a Mother's Day/birthday gift and was going to get jewelry, but this seemed more "usable" and "fun".
My grandson will get my red Nano I no longer need.
So far I've downloaded 12 free apps which I love playing with. Although most will be important helpers - like AAA, flashlight, tip chart, global weather, compass, AOL Radio, etc. my favorite (which is the best stress buster by far) is "Fluid".
As long as I'm in WiFi areas, I can see and send mail, go on www, shop on-line.
Oh, and at Target, I got a $25 gift card along with the iPod Touch.
Yep! There is a heaven, and I'm already in it.

I own iPod Classic 120GB and iPod Touch 8GB

by Dan Filice - 6/3/09 10:25 AM In reply to: Poll: Do you have an MP3 player? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

Plus both of my sons have an iPod Classic too. Love them. They work wonderfully, sync to both Mac and PC perfectly and the iPod Touch applications and games couldn't be better. Also, the Touch works perfectly with my AT&T wireless modem for Wi-Fi.

Yes I have the best sounding Mp3 player in the world..B&O

by JeepMysteryProb - 8/26/09 5:16 PM In reply to: Poll: Do you have an MP3 player? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

I really love a excellent sounding device, so I went with the Beosound 6 from Bang & Olufsen. Bang & Olufsen is from Denmark and they are a producer of high end audiophile audio/video equipment. The Beosound 6 is their top of the line Mp3 player. This player has no special features, its strictly a music player; thus the concentration was on sound quality. That is the reason why I chose it, its an audiophile's music player. I encourage anyone to go try it out at a B&o dealer. It sounds wonderful.

it sounds better than most of their other stuff? I always found their equipment very stylish, but generally overpriced.

how do you like the Zune? I got an iPod touch instead, because I wanted wifi web browsing. I'm thinking about getting a new player this year sometime. I'm considering the new Archos players (they have google Android installed) or a Zune HD, but I want to see what the new iPod touch looks like first. I think it will be released in a couple of weeks.

Zune?

Well, as my Zunes are both first gen models, they are getting a little long in the tooth, and can't really compare to something as versatile as the iPod Touch, in many respects.

That being said, I believe even the first gen Zunes have sound quality superior to any iPod. The video experience is also superior to most iPods, in my opinion. Haven't experienced video on the iPod Touch, so can't say which is better between those two.

The first gen Zunes ARE very "bricky" in appearance, nowhere as sleek as any iPod. But they are built very sturdily, and not prone to all the scratching iPods seem prone to. I also prefer the Zune GUI over the iPod's. Same goes with the software. I really dislike iTunes. But we all have our own preferences.

As much as I like my Archos 5, despite its minor issues, I won't be jumping to get a new Archos player with Android. As the Archos 5 turned out to be somewhat of a disappointment for most people for half realized promises made by Archos, I will wait a good long time for things to shake out with the Archos Android players before I decide to invest in one. The lack of available simple replacement parts (such as a speaker) for Archos players is also somewhat frustrating, as well as their lousy customer support. Leave it to the French.

I too am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Zune HD. But I actually would prefer something with more storage capacity. I already have players with limited capacity, so for me it's pointless to "upgrade" to something with the same or less storage space than I already have.

yes, iPod touch

by d_adams - 8/29/09 2:12 PM In reply to: Poll: Do you have an MP3 player? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

I've got a first gen iPod touch, and I love it! I've also got a Archos 605 wifi. It's better with videos than the touch, because of the larger amount of storage space and larger screen, but other than that, it's completely inferior to the touch.
