Okay I have a VCR DVD Recorder just bought it last November during Black Friday sale but was unable to find time to install it before a few days back) first VHS tape I tried to dub was a tape from the Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition and I got a warning error about copy protection preventing the tape from dubbing -- after that even if I change the tape -- to a tape I recorded on myself it refuses to dub. This is a Magnavox VCR DVD Recorder.
I hope it was not disabled due to a DRM violation from copying another VHS tape 2 DVD in which case I would have to buy a completely new VCR DVD Recorder which I cannot afford to do in the near term.
Any suggestions or insight -- as to what may have caused this would be great.
If there's no message this time, copy protection isn't the cause. All you can try: a brand-new supported type of DVD. If that doesn't work, even after you studied the manual twice, go back and use your warranty.

I've lost count of the times I have to:
1. Use supported media. If it says DVD+R we use that. Beyond that, if it appears to prefer one type of media over another we use what works and forget support calls.
2. Read the manual again.
