Hi:
I don't know if this is a problem or not. However: when I go to the "Picture Settings" on the setup menu for the LN32A550, three menu settings are grayed-out: DNIE, HDMI Black Level, and Film Mode.
I do have the latest firware, so I'm wondering why this is. Anyone know?
Thanks.
Rev. Doug,
There can be two reasons for this:
1. The name of the input may not allow this. PC, for example, may grey out some of the options. Some settings, when enabled, in turn disable other redundant features.
2. The connection doesn't apply to the processing feature. For example, some processing that can be done with an HDMI signal can't be done with a component, S-video or composite input. So that can factor in as well.
Keep me posted.

It has this problem with the HDMI1 and HDMI2/DVI inputs. The settings are those found here: http://www.tweaktv.com/tweak-my-tv/calibration-guide/samsung-ln-32a550-2.html (except for the grayed-out settings).
Thanks.
DNIE is only an option if you set the picture mode to "dynamic".
HDMI black level is only an option if your source uses HDMI and outputs RGB (which, to my knowledge, is only computers and game consoles).
Film mode is only an option for interlaced signals (480i or 1080i).
