I got a Canon A540 just a year ago - way after most manufacturers were configuring their software for Vista, and I can't believe they don't have a driver for Vista. I finally got Zoombrowser in there, and it kinda works, but I'd like it to download from the camera like it was on XP.
I also have vista (home premium) and i also have a canon powershot A 540. i do not experience ANY problem when connecting the Powershot A 540 to my pc.
So the question is what "taste" of vista do you have ?
have you tried new hardware in vista ?
Mine Said" New hardware found Canon Powershot A540" and asked if i wanted to instal SIGNED drivers i clicked on Yes and a few seconds later it was recognized completly
