is there a way or is it puff and they are gone for good, and

by taylor1277 - 4/18/09 9:15 PM

where did they go,magically disappeared into thin air. What im asking is,we went camping,me and the family and we took photos of our 8mnth old, which were precious, about 25 pictures.Well being a little tired,i took one more photo at home,of my wife and child sleeping, thinking i put the other photos,in a folder i erased the 25,and then later realized that i didnt put them in the folder. And erased them by using the camera, not the computer. Is there a way to retrack them from the Sandisk 256MB card.Anyway, please tell me there is.

Sandisk Rescue Pro

My Sandisk memory card comes with the Sandisk Rescue Pro that can help to recover lost or accidentally deleted files. You should check whether yours come with a little disk. If not, you can follow this link:
http://www.sandisk.com/Products/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=&CatID=1186

Here is another link with some other resources:
http://www.lc-tech.com/software/rprodetail.html (it also has recovery service charging you $100 for under 2 GB, I haven't used it, so cannot tell you much about this service).

But please do not use your memory card until you recover all your files.

Free recovery software

by Baper - 4/19/09 5:14 AM In reply to: is there a way or is it puff and they are gone for good, and by taylor1277

Usually it is easier to recover erased photos as long as the memory card hasn't been formatted. Don't take anymore pictures with the card. There are many free recovery programs available as well as some for sale. Google the term "digital photo recovery" and you will find many references to recovery software.

They are still there if you have not over riten them . You can use a program called disk digger that you can find at ( http://dmitrybrant.com/diskdigger ) it is free and it works really well.

Try Recuva, a freeware utility from CNET Downloads or Google it. Used it once on a Fuji XD card and it worked for me.

I've had good luck with Art Plus Digital Photo Recovery which can be downloaded free on download.com (or Google it). It has even recovered pictured from reformatted memory cards. Good Luck!
