IPTV bandwidth usage

I have an IPTV connection that works on 8 MBPS connection. I also get to browse the net at 256 KBPS unlimited as a package.
Now I am not an avid TV fan. Is there a way that I can convert the 8MBPS to be used as a PC bandwidth.
The setup is as follows:
Phone Line -> Wifi Router -> IPTV Box -> TV
