And if you uinstall IE8 from an XP machine, the previously installed browser will remain and "should" work correctly.. If that was IE7, then IE7 will be there.. If you went straight to IE8 from IE6, then IE6 will remain..
Hope this helps.

I haven't done anything regarding my problem with IE 8 because for some strange reason that only my computer knows about, everything is back to normal, still a touch slower but no more error messages and I can get into sites that I couldn't at first after downloading 8.
I just wanted to thank you all for your supportive answers, which I've saved for future reference, need be.
So, thanks!!!!
Explain in details what you did to remove them. XP Sp3 was installed on here before IE8.
Here's the Microsoft.msi tool for removing IE8:

Hope this helps.

I think I need to uninstall XP SP3 first. So i can unstall Ie8 and Ie7. I read somewhere. That you have to uninstall all of that. Reinstall XP Sp3 and then IE7 so you can remove it without any problems in the near future. I'm not sure how true that is. So how do I uninstall XP Sp3? There is no remove button in Add/remove Programs on XP.
I just checked four of our computers and there IS a remove button on all our Windows XP Pro SP3 machines. Recognize that incorrectly using System Restore can sometimes make those "Remove" buttons go a way..
That said, it's looking more like you got a bad installation of all the items you've mentioned in this thread. In that case, it appears like the reformat and reinstall option is looking like the cure.
Hope this helps.

This is not my computer. I heard about this Revo-uninstaller. Could this tool remove XP Sp3 and IE8 for me? I never did a system restore for XP SP3 just iE8. There is no remove button at all. Why didn't microsoft put this information out last year about SP3? So i could of known this would of happened. If i had known, I wouldn't be experiencing this problem now. XPSP3 was installed on top of IE7. I did not know I had uninstall iE7 and reinstall after SP3 was installed.
Many thanks for this link. I was having problems with delayed opening of IE8 and general sluggishness (pretty bad), and total hang requiring it to be killed. I have Firefox but still prefer IE7 and this has restored it totally in about 10 minutes including reboot.
I can't thank you enough, or recommend this link too much for those of us that haven't benefitted from IE8 first try.
ps To all IE8 haters... please dont mention Firefox etc. We know it's there, we know we can use it, but some of us prefer IE7 for general use, for our own reasons.
Thomas Glad I could help,I stupidly (but it seemed a good idea at the time,I'm sure you've been there)Panda Anti-Virus and it caused more trouble than it was worth, but trying to get rid of it was a "BLOODY NIGHTMARE" then I found Revo Uninstaller that's FREE to Download, doesn't promise everything which when to try to remove stuff your asked to buy the "B" thing.
All the Best,
asasr,
You can use "Revo-uninstaller" program to uninstall the Internet Explorer 8.
I got this error message, The following were installed on your computer after Internet Explorer 8
Update for Windows IE 8 (KB968220)
If these programs depend on IE8, they might not work properly after it is removed. Do you want to continue? Yes or No.
There is no remove button for XP Sp3. I'm trying to revert back to ie6 because I bought some software a few weeks ago. I need ie6 to install it but i don't want to keep ie6. I just want ie7 with sp3 after i get done using ie6 for my installation.
Will it also remove XP Sp3? It won't damage the system or anything will it?.
I read where you need uninstall XP Sp3-Uninstall ie8 & ie7. Reinstall XP Sp3 and then Ie7 so you can remove it again later. Is there any truth to that?
Is anyone out there going to respond to my last posts on here. I still need help you know.
Hello from Australia. I upgraded from IE7 to IE8, big mistake. IE8
was very plain to look at & use-I hated it. I rang Microsoft Aust to
tell them so. Anyway, I tried to uninstall IE8 from Control Panel>
Add or Remove Programs, then tried to reinstall IE7. IE7 woldn't fully
reinstall. With Tools>Option Menu gone.
Finally I gave up & Reinstalled Win XP & SP3. After I uninstalled IE8
Windows itself was damaged, IE7 didn't work & Outlook Express ver 6
lost it's Purple Skin. Outlook Express also (Default) goes back to
French only in Spell Check a Download from Microsoft is need to restore the Spell Check. I hope this helps.
Regards... Richard71.
Is there a safe way to uninstall IE8 and IE7 without uninstalling XP SP3. Then, reinstalling IE7 again?
