Looking for ea freeware real-time spyware protection

by Pcfreakske2000 - 4/4/09 12:49 PM

Hi all,

Currently I have Comodo BOClean installed as a real time anti-malware solution. But I read on some forum that they are planning to stop Comodo BOClean in the near future. I have searched on the internet, but I didn't find a solution to an alternative.

Freeware, of course.

Does anyone have a solution ?

I don't want anything from Symantec or Mcafee, though, lol.

Thanks in advance.

Greetings,

1. Windows Defender
2. Javacool SpywareBlaster (not a scanner)
3. Spybot-S&D (Teatimer, SDHelper and Immunization)
4. Ad-Aware AE Free (Ad-watch Live that will monitor for malicious processes)
5. BOClean (not a scanner)
6. Spyware Doctor Starter Edition

7. WinPatrol (not a scanner and no spyware definitions but will monitor in real-time files and process that you can review whenever it's running)

protection for free versions. Although those are good scanners, the free versions do not have real time protection.

thanks for your suggestions. But I want to find one that doesn't conflict with Panda Internet Security 2008.

I heard that Comodo is going to pull out the plug out of Comodo BOClean.

I have Comodo BOClean installed now, but I'm looking for a replacement.

Try ThreatFire!

by Paul C - 4/10/09 2:37 AM In reply to: Thanks by Pcfreakske2000

Go to http://www.threatfire.com/download/ and download the free version. If you join the ThreatFire community, the software will update itself; if you don't, you'll have to manually update it. It offers full time protection, is light on system resources and is very effective.

In another post, someone mentioned Spyware Blaster. I use that too, and recommend you do also. That program does not offer any full time protection, as that's not what it's designed to do. It works by blocking the installation of any malware listed in its extensive database, which you will have to manually update.

Hope this helps,

Paul

Is ThreatFire compatible with Panda Internet Security

Is ThreatFire compatible with Panda Internet Security or not ?

Because Panda Internet Security comes with TruPrevent Technologies aboard.

I heard that ThreatFire is now owned by Symantec ? Is that right ?

I don't like Symantec, sorry , lol...
