Vista shuts down after a while

by Thomasdv - 4/9/09 5:39 AM

Hey,

System info of my laptop:

windows vista
intel core 2 duo T5800 @ 2.00GHz
4 GB RAM
32-bits
nvidia geforce 9600m gs

When I'm working on my laptop it shuts down for no reason. That can be after 30min, 1hour, 2hour,...
My laptop is 3 months old.
I have no idea how to cure this, please help me.

3 mos old? I'm with Proffit. Bring it back. Dust is obvious. A SLOW fan is not. Good Luck, Chuck

Getting too hot?

by MrVulcan - 4/10/09 12:25 PM In reply to: Vista shuts down after a while by Thomasdv

Hi there,

Could any ventilation holes be blocked, and cause the laptop to get too hot? If so, then the BIOS might shut your laptop down to keep the processor from being baked.

The fact that your laptop doesn't shut down after a specific amount of time, makes this the most likely explanation, I feel.

Hope that helps.

Kind regards,

Bert
