Samsung LCD TV with notebook input

by bencottrell - 4/1/09 6:45 AM

I'm trying to watch films from my notebook on my new Samsung series 4 LCD tv.

I have the correct cable to link the 2 but nothing comes up on the big screen.

Is there a setting on the TV I need to change to accept the input from the notebook?

How did you connect it?

Correct cable is what? VGA port, S-video, HDMI, what? We're stuck until you tell us how it's connected.

Hi
I used a VGA cable to connect the notebook to the TV.
Is this the correct way?

That'll work . . .

But you have to do this. Right click the Desktop and choose properties. Click Settings, Advanced. From there tell your setup to use the VGA output.

Don't you have a Function key and some other key to turn on the external monitor, in this case the TV.
