I have a runtime error 5 at 23115866 recurring. I have few programs open and have 220 Mb of RAM available. How can I remove this error message, as my PC keeps freezing ?
I have a Windows 2000 box that gets this error popping up, but only if I leave the ethernet cable pluged in. I believe this is related to a virus that still infects the machine. I ran Process Explorer and see iexplore.exe running all the time. If I kill it, a whole bunch of STNETLIB.EXE's ( a definate virus) try to start, and iexplore returns. I've been fighting this for over three weeks.
To repeat, if my cable is unplugged, I don't get the error msg.
Have you run your antivirus? Try MalWarebytes and see if it finds things.(malwarebytes.org - free version)
I have installed Identity Patrol, Registry Patrol, and maybe coincidentally, the problem has been reduced. The "runtime error 5" has gone, but I still get the STNETLIB.EXE message coming up occasionally.
Tell more on that please. You didn't tell earlier. What message exactly? When does it popup?
Kees
It has no specific time. In time of Log In it shows the run time error and two processes cmd.exe & stnetilb.exe consumed 100% of CPU Usage.
Sorry, but you still didn't tell the full error text for this particular stnetlib.exe message".
Kees
Do One thing. Download Eset Nod 32 trial version. Scan ur PC. Definitely it should work.
