Hi - I would like to download the demo/trial for "Personal Historian" (http://download.cnet.com/Personal-Historian/3000-2124_4-196399.html?tag=mncol ) but apparently something is misconfigured somewhere as when I use the download link OR the alternate download link, I only get html source of :
<html>
<head>
<title>
</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="1; URL=http://www.software-locator.com/search.html">
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>
Thanks for any attention to this you may give,
Susan
In some cases Cnet allows the developers to offer their software through their own servers rather than Cnet's, and unfortunately it looks like the developer's download link broke without them posting an update. I have reported the issue to the download.com team so that the developer may be contacted and address the issue.
Regards,
John
I've now done a search and I found that this program is actually made by RootsMagic so I felt ok downloading the trial directly from their site. Thought I'd give it to you here as the initial address the CNET download pointed to was nothing like it so they must have messed up somewhere (RootsMagic company that is) - Anyways, their site with trial version is at: http://www.personalhistorian.com/Features/ - They are apparently having other web issues as one cannot get to the main address of http://www.personalhistorian.com. Thanks again for your quick response! Before I searched elsewhere I wanted to make sure I couldn't download through here. I pretty much only go elsewhere on those rare occasions where download.com doesn't have what I am looking for. This is for reasons of safety, reliability and ability to track downloads. Yeeks, I'm starting to sound like a download.com ad! Anyways, thanks again! Susan
