I'm looking for some recommendation for a new hosting company for a bunch of sites I have. Shared hosting is fine as it has bee nworking for me in the past. The are a few things I definatly need though.
Windows Platform
.NET 2.0 with ability to crate application folders
ASP
MySql and MSSQL (at least 1 database for each
5gig of space
at least 1 email box
Ability to point multiple domains to the package and point them to different sub folders (I guess some places call it Domain pointers)
And not overly expensive (Like 15 dollars a month)
Hi,
I have had good service with BlueHost and they offer windows hosting.
Tech service is easy to contact and respone is fast. Help files and documentaion is very extensive. They also have a user forum that has been very helpful.
The C-Panel has many useful tools and they offer many popular scripts.
I would appriciate the support by using my affilate link if you choose them.

Hope you find this useful.
Best Regaurds,
Toby
I have tried both Bluehost and Hostgator and I have to say Hostgator has much faster reply time. If you have more complicated issues, live support is no the way to go, they solve only very common problems. With ticket system and email (and phone support) you can get your complicated issues solved very fast. Both Bluehost and Hostgator uptime is very good, my Pingdom account shows 99.998% uptime. Good thing is that you can try Hostgator hosting out for free if you use a Hostgator coupon http://www.getbest.info/hostgator-coupon/ (regularly updated site) during the order process. You can cancel your order any time so it's a safe way to try out their great service.
I was just looking into switching. Thanks for posting the information about the seed of Hostgator's support.
Hello,
Correct me if I'm wrong. I thought Bluehost only provides LINUX hosting? I don't think they provide Window hosting as well. Hostgator too provides only LINUX hosting.
As far as I know, only Lunarpages provides quality Window Hosting. All their hosting specs is better than what you needed and the price is lower than your budget too. Their price is only at $9.90/month and you get the first 3 months free with their latest spring promotions.

No advertising please.
I agree with you about Lunarpages for Windows hosting. HostGator has a section on their website for Windows hosting but they do not offer it yet. It says, "HostGator is currently in the process of recruiting qualified and experienced Windows System Administrators and a technical lead for HostGator's Windows hosting offerings. Once this process has been completed, HostGator will begin offering Windows Web Hosting."
StartLogic - WindowsLogic plan is $8.95 a month if you sign up for a two year plan and $9.95 a month for a one year plan. It has everything you listed in your requirements. Also, http://www.hostingplanrebates.com has a $40 rebate if you sign up for a StartLogic plan through their site. Another great company that meets your requirements and has a $40 Rebate is Easy CGI.
Good luck and I hope that you find exactly what you are looking for.
I prefer Linux platform; more stable. If you change your mind about the server OS, I use 123GoWeb.Com web hosting. It's cheap and has pre-installed scripts for easy set ups of forums, blogs and classifieds. I just set up ModDungeon.Com, case mod forum with that host. I did it with a few clicks and it created the new SQL database and loaded the forum files where I pointed them.
If you get a lot of traffic though, you may want to consider a virtual hosting plan. I just signed up as an affiliate with Lunar Pages because they had the best deals and get good reviews for virtual and dedicated hosting. Be warned, though, if you click on this Lunar Pages link, you're in danger of supporting my web habit. Thanks, Man.
I have tried a lot of hosts, all claiming they are the best.
For less than $10 per month host as many sites.
Domain reg is less than $7 at ipower.com and the management is easy, up to 50 sites in one control panel.
ipower and HostGator are American companies too.
$9.94 off coupon code: HGC25 http://hgdiscounts.notlong.com
rebate $25: after 60 days hostgator. http://hgdiscounts.notlong.com
Do you use iPower? What can you say about their service?
I am updating some pages for a client who is hosted at iPower. I had to make a call to the tech support, they seemed prompt friendly and was able to help me with my issue.
The ".Vdeck" Cpanel layout was a little different than I am used to However, it was fairly easy to navigate. I found limited tools and add ons, as well as crude implementation of the tools that were available. This is probably part of the reason for their poor ratings.
On a side note: IXwebhosting has the #1 ratings position. I have an account with them also. Their Cpanel takes a little to get used to and is very slow in comparison to either iPower or BlueHost. However it does offer some very robust features and the directory structure is in my opinion better for hosting multiple domains. The Trade off is that like iPower they do not offer many auto install add ons. And they don't have Awstats. However you can install it manually.
Hope you find this useful in making your choice for a Host.

http://www.hostingplanrebates.com

And other sites with $40 Rebate and other coupon codes.
