Hi, I've recently bought the Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 Headset Microphone and its a usb microphone. I'm having difficulty trying to record in stereo mix. I have a realtek soundcard and I use Wavepad to record. When I use my non-usb microphone (pink head) the stereo mix works perfectly fine but when I try to use the usb microphone, the stereo mix doesnt even show! Is anyone familiar with this stuff? Thanks, hope you can help.
If Wavepad is set for the pink jack, you'll need to change it to record from the USB mic.
Yes, that's what I thought too. But on the drop down list, stereo mix is not there.
I found the earphones are stereo but can't find stereo in the specifications on the mic.
I see. Does that mean that the Microsoft LifeChat LX3000 microphone does not support stereo mix? By the way, if the microphone is unable to stereo mix, is there a way to record sound coming out of the headset speakers?
The mic is mono. It is what it is.
As to recording what you hear, there are some efforts to thwart that in Vista but Total Recorder (see google) might work.
Bob
... about recording audio from system + USB MIC? I have a new DELL with the exact same problem... it's really pathetic that something so easy and obvious can't be done in Vista... I guess the MAC ads are right.
PS: Please let me know if you solve!
Nope, I still haven't found a solution to this. Currently, to record in the stereo mix kind of way, I'm just using the mixing function found in Wavepad (can be found in Audacity and othe recording programs as well). Next time I buy a microphone, I'm going to make sure it has this stereo mix capability! >=\
