Samsung: 120 HZ Question
120 HZ Question
by Psusux1 - 2/24/09 6:20 PMI recently purchased a LN52A650, and had a question about the refresh setting. When I hit INFO on the remote when I'm watching my digital cable, it says @60Hz in the info box. It also said this when I changed inputs to a running PS3 (HDMI).
My question is, how do I get the 120Hz to turn on? I've got the Auto Motion Plus 120Hz set to medium, but have tried all of the settings and the @60Hz still is displayed in the info box.

60hz is the incoming signal. The information box shows the incoming resolution and Hertz rate, as the panel will always convert the incoming picture to a 1080p/120Hz picture.

does this mean, that if i send a 1080p 24hz (24p) signal, it will be displayed at 120hz? and i have a problem, when i send 24p signals, my audio get desincronized

For the most part I think it makes it look better but some people don't like the effect and results varry depending on how the camera is moving and whether there is any stationary objects in the background like certain movies it will cause technical difficulties in a few areas so to speak... does the audiosdesyncronization happen with all movies and do you have 120hz set on high + what model tv?

When I'm watching digital cable, the info box on the TV will say it is displaying at 1080i. I tried a blu-ray movie in a PS3, and in the info box, it says 24 Hz, which I'm happy to see, but it just says 1080, rather than 1080p. Is the TV displaying the blu-ray in 1080p, or do I need to fiddle?

When the InfoBar is displaying 1080, it does translate to 1080p.
For uniforimtys sake:
1080i = 1080i
1080 = 1080p
