of flat panels I just have a 32" Samsung on top of a short 18" tall book shelf. Later this year I will be getting a 58" Panasonic V10 & that will go on the A/V stand where my Sony SXRD is now, then the SXRD will go where the LCD is now & then the LCD will be down graded to a computer monitor.
WELL, I've read some of the replies, and I am in agreement with a lot of you . 31 % to be exact. In the "Electronics store hanging on the wall".Most of us are busy watching every penny that we have, and unfortunately a Flat Panel TV has to take second place to paying bills, and eating.
On the other hand, I have heard about LCD's with 720 DPI, 1080P, and then of course there or the Plasma's with 720 DPI and no 1080P. No one so far has given me a reasonable answer on which is best.
I guess, until the price goes down, and someone can give me a definitive answer on which one is the best in a well lit room, I will have to wait.
Go 4 the 1080 its the best resulution etc
Mine is still in the store awaiting me to be able to afford as for location over the gas fire....What a gas!!!! regards....Ken.
We have our 46" LCD sat on top of an oak TV unit with all the peripherals (AV Receiver, Sat Receiver, Front Speaker, Games Consoles) sitting inside the unit below the TV.
Works great at the TV is at eye height, and we have place to store the remotes, DVDs, etc inside the unit
Our 40 inch Sony Z series is in our armoir in the living room. The thin border of the Z series makes it the largest tv I could fit in it. It is about 8-8.5 feet away from our sectional, perfect viewing distance for me. I also have a 37 inch Vizio in the front bedroom on a tv stand, I use it for my Xbox360 for right now, soon it will be in the master bedroom and the xbox will go upstairs in the bonus room with a new flat panel tv. Im not sure yet which one to buy for the bonus room, but it to will be put on a stand, im not into wall mounting just yet. Maybe in my next home I will.
1) 55" Sony SXRD in main TV room, sitting on low A/V cabinet so screen is at correct viewing height when sitting.
2) 46" Toshiba flat-panel LCD mounted on wall in bedroom directly across from bed.
3) 23" Sony WEGA LCD sitting on shelf in computer room above computer table so I can watch NBA games.
Mounted to the side wall of the bedroom.
Had to make custom adapter plate (3/32" alum.)
due to wall mount and mounting hole pattern
on back of lcd differences. Layed in bed and
used line of sight for height. Didn't want
chin sitting on chest. 2-way horizontal adjustment
with vertical tilt. Lcd weight for mount to the max.
Couldn't mount to wall directly in front of bed.
Looks awesome. Handy to know a machinist. Fun stuff.

I mounted my 32" Samsung on the wall in my bedroom using a tilt mount bracket. I also have my speakers mounted above the set and on the wall behind my bed. It looks and sounds great!
My 50 inch Panasonic Plasma (800U) was mounted on the wall in my living room but my Panasonic Blue ray and HD cables are still on the floor.

I own several flat panel sets, both LCD and Plasma (the plasmas are definitely better).
Eight are on the wall (1 in the living room, 2 in my studio as monitors, one in my kitchen, three in my library), two are on cabinets (1 on a wooden entertainment center in my bedroom, the other in my study as a computer monitor/tv).
And the last is in my theater. This one slides up from an enclosed cabinet (just for cable, movies on front projector).
