I recommend the freeware program keepass (http://sourceforge.net/projects/keepass). It claims to be very secure, doesn't require any installation, and you can keep it on a flash drive (with periodic backups!). A few minutes of setup to generate your initial passphrase and key file and you're off an running. It allows you to categorize all your passwords, has a nifty search feature, and you can copy a password to the clipboard so you never have to type it again. Check it out.

I keep a copy on my laptop, my home computer, and a USB thumb drive and synchronize files across all 3 periodically. I currently have 298 entries including passwords, account numbers, etc. I only need to memorize 2 passwords -- one to log in to Windows and one to open KeePass. I highly recommend KeePass.

I have been using Roboform on my XP machine (Firefox) for years and love it! But now I have switched to a Mac. 1Passwords works well, but I REALLY liked Roboform because it would just pop up when it came time to fill in a password (unless I'm missing something with 1Password) instead of having to open the program yourself and then "click" to have it fill in your form (what can I say, I'm LAZY!).
What are ya'll using for Mac?

I bought a Mac laptop last year and cannot stand the operating system, so it sits in a cupboard whilst I use my PC.

It is available in a free form download with a limited number of passwords capability or, for those power users, a very reasonably priced commercial version... It is ironclad and as customizable as anyone could want. One great feature of RoboForm commercial is that updates are always free which is a pleasant departure from some sites which charge upkeep fees. I have tried a variety of password managers over the years, however RoboForm is the one I recommend to all my friends. Try out the free version and I'm certain that you'll find RoboForm to be a keeper! Good luck and good computing!

Some may be cheaper, but I haven't seen any better. Works on both my Firefox and IE browsers. Also have it on flashdrive when I'm using another computer.
Managing Passwords

Creating new passwords can be irritating but keeping all those passwords in a small Rolodex should solve the problem of where to keep them. Works for me.
KEEP TRACK OF PASSWORDS

I use roboform. it has one master password. after you enter those you want saved, you must use the master to access the others. You can even print out a list of them, and then hide that.
I have formatted my harddrive a few times, and if you do that, you have to start all over. But it works great for me. There may be a few sites with those secret questions that it may not work with. I also write down on a notebook, but I also don't put the whole password. I leave blanks where I hope only I would know.
