Not The Moderator To This Forum But..

..I think it would depend EXACTLY on whether it crosses the forum policy guidelines.. See the link below, specifically as it relates to "Piracy and unlawful activities"..

http://forums.cnet.com/4520-6035-6656401.html

I see: "This type of activity includes, but is not limited to, ..... "cracks," or other information designed to do harm to or allow unlawful access to any computer hardware, software, networks, or any other systems. Please refrain from posting this kind of message."

Maybe one of the mods for this forum have a different idea.

Although we have discussed various network monitoring software on these forums, whether it's "unlawful access" is the key here.. But I also see that you mention such as "offensive security".. Most companies have some type of network/internet/email monitoring software to guarantee their network isn't used in an inappropriate or illegal manner.. Is that what you're referring to and if so, are you against such monitoring? Do you own a company which maintains its own network? Or...Do you have a network in your household for which you are responsible?

Hope this helps and let us know more.

Grif

Any of the tools a network auditor would use can be used for both good and bad. I mean them for lawful use but someone else who reads this forum may not. I do have a home business that I run pen tests on regularly. *thinks* on second thought maybe It'd be best not to discuss things as such here.
