I am upgrading my phone in 2 months and I am upgrading it to a smart phone. I heard rumors the Blackberry Bold might end up on the Verizon network and I did look at the Storm, but how does browsing the internet on those phones compare to the Omnia? I think the web browser will be the most important feature for my smart phone and I read reviews the Storm and Bold have less than average web browsers compared to the Omnia I am open to discussion to any smart phone with better web browser. Other than a good web browser, it HAS to be on the Verizon network.
Thank you for any suggestions.
If you are able to get to a full service Verizon store try out the phones browsers there. At the store I use, all the phones on display are up and running. Test out the browser for yourself and see which one you like. If I could have afforded it, I would have gotten the Storm. With the WiFi connectivity I could use the Internet where ever there was an open WiFi link. The latest software upgrades seem to have made it faster to render Web pages. The pages looked very good. I ended up with a Voyager from LG for the lower cost and the big keypad for texting.
I do not want to spend more than $300,however very few cell phones go beyond that limit with 2 year contracts. Because Verizon has excellent 3G coverage in my area, I am not that interested in WiFi. One of the reasons I am staying on the Verizon network is because of Verizon's superior 3G network. I will mention the Omnia is one of the few Verizon cell phones with WiFi access. The Storm does not have WiFi, but this should not be a problem. Only one building I visit does not have 3G access and the dead zone is limited to room in that building.
I heard many good things about Omnia's Opera Browser. It is different from the free Mini Opera Browser that is available for the Storm. Can I purchase the same Opera web browser found on the Omnia for the Storm? Can I buy a better or equivalent Web Browser for the Storm?
