help, 'Internet explorer cannot display webpage'

by mm724 - 2/7/09 10:13 PM

my problem is that at some point while using my laptop, i get the 'internet explorer cannot display webpage', but i still have a wireless connection that still shows as having an excellent reception/connection. when i try to open up another window or go to a different webpage, i get that error. so what i end up doing is just restarting the laptop. sometimes it will last for 3 or 4 hours or it will last for 30 min. or an hour.

hoping someone can help me with this, first thought was to reinstall windows vista, i didnt get a restore cd when i got the laptop, but i think those files are on the laptop, if i'm correct.

I have an Acer 5520-5147 laptop, running windows vista home premium. any information that i've left out, let me know. thanks. mm724

the network is set to private. will check the ip4v, when it starts doing it again. now that its working, ip4v says internet. ie is running version 7. when it happens, i try to refresh and i still get that error. but will check ip4v when i get that error again. will let you what happens. thanks. mm724

well, it did it again. i checked the ip4v and it showed internet, i checked the network sharing, still had a wireless connection.

although, i looked at ip6v and it showed limited. is that normal? dont know what else to check, to try and fix this. any ideas? mm724
