Malware problem: Vimax Advertisements
by FrankQC - 2/4/09 7:48 PMI have a trojan on my computer... It's replacing every website ads and changing them to Vimax male enhancement.
I have booted into safe mode and did a McAfee system-wide scan and said that it deleted it. Yet when I log back in as normal (non-safeboot) the trojan is back on its feet.
I have tried malwarebyte's and hasn't given me any success. Anyone have any ideas on how to remove this very annoying adware/malware?

2. I ran my scans in safemode and it deleted them. But yea, it still pops back. I'm starting to think that the malware attached itself to the registries.

I totally wiped clean and reformatted my hard drive and did a fresh reininstall of XP only to have the very same Vimax ads, google redirects, not being able to access my C: drive and not being able to update any of my virus/spyware programs etc. How is this even possible? lol

A few others ... Nothing happened.

It's ComboFix and for some reason it worked. I hope it's going to work for you as well.
