If the game doesn't work, download it from Microsoft Marketplace!!!! There you won't have to put a CD because it is on the hard drive. First, return Halo Combat Evolved.

Your issue might be different, but I removed the existing driver - vendor supplied driver - and went with a generic driver vista supplied driver.
go to c:/windows/program files\microsoft games\halo and run the haloupdate thing. it will fully update and remove cd check
