I can't get my TV to display cable through HDMI. It works fine from the wall jack to TV but not through the cable box. I have also tried a scientific Atlanta box. 4 months and I decided to check here.
I tried switching HDMI cables too. What should I do?
I am not sure if my situation is similar to yours but when I got my 40 inch, 650 Samsung tv I tried my cable box with the HDMI connection. It didn't work. Only the component cables worked. Since my cable box was rented, a cable technician looked at it and said that the box was faulty. He replaced it with a new box and now the HDMI works for me.
It could also be that you're not sending the signal from the box at 720 or higher.
Try going into the setup menu of your cable box, set it to output in HDMI and bump up the output setting.
If not, a box replacement may be a good idea.
Keep me posted.

I am having so many issues. Comcast will be coming out AGAIN for about the 6th time. The box is having issues I guess. It won't display time. I spent so much money on the TV and a Onkyo 7100 and can't seem to get any of it right. So I have a high priced video game system with a big screen and surround as it stands now. Ha ha. Thanks for responding. I got in way over my head I guess. I thought it would be a lot easier ![]()
JeffG3209,
I'm trying to make it easy... Keep me posted.
