Dear Samsung Forum:
I want to buy a TV for my kids room for HDTV and as a 2nd monitor.
Can't decide!
Samsung Touch Of Color T220HD 22-inch LCD HDTV Monitor, or Samsung touch of Color Samsung LN22A650 22-Inch 720p LCD HDTV, Black which is the best one for bedroom, 2nd monitor off laptop or desktop, best tv for HD, off Cable feed, thank you, hamblda
Hi:
I recently purchased a Samsung LN46A850 LCD TV and, so far, am thrilled with its performance. I have a few questions, though.
1) What types of programming do you recommend engaging the Automotion Feature other than sports broadcasts? And what is the setting (Low, Medium, High)that looks most natural while being effective at reducing motion artifacts?
2) I believe this TV is 120Hz, so does it handle the 3:2 pull down automatically? Is there some setting we need to enable for achieving the right frame rate for film-based material. Rather, does the Movie preset mode under the Entertainment modes take care of this? BTW, can you help me understand, in lay terms, when the 3:2 pull down is most evident and what we should look for, for the TV to process?
Thanks for a great product overall!
Vik
Personally I'm glad Samsung has a presence here. I visit CNET daily and so its one less place to go for help or info about my products. Just over 1 year ago I was blessed by the company I work for with a large "service bonus". Part of that money my wife and I decided would go towards a large screen HDTV and the rest to an MP3 player. I study the products on the market carefully (I'm not that rich) and really want value/bang for my buck. The MP3 player I landed on was the Samsung P2 (8G touch screen). Decent physical design and decent price finalized my decision. Then we moved on to the HDTV. Frankly I had my eye on a Panasonic 50" plasma but the store I wanted to buy from (based on service not price) didn't have any in stock and I didn't want to wait 2 weeks. So I went with my second choice ... Samsung HPT5054. One year later ... still very pleased with it. Boxing Day I went to the same store and picked up a Samsung BDP-1500 Blu Ray player. Worked fine until I did the firmware update and suddenly it would stop playing regular DVDs after about 30 minutes. Just freeze up solid. Because of my relationship with the store they exchanged it for another one today and it works fine on my test DVD. I am now reluctant to upgrade the firmware because I don't want to run into the same problem I had before. Can you reassure me about this problem or give me a good reason to go through the firmware upgrade again?
good luck!
We just purchased a Samsung 46" LCD HDTV. How do you connect both the Cable TV from the wall & the over the air Atena to the TV or DVD to get both signals? Right now the TV get some over the air digital channels but the signal is not strong b/c no atena is hooked up. There is only 1 coax cable on the TV. Our cable package is real cheap, but not HD. If we can get the HD local channels over the air plus the regular cable channels we would be very happy. Thanks!
So 1 month ago I purchased:
Samsung - 40" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
Model: LN40A650 | SKU: 8749456
I love it. However, when I watch certain DVD's I notice the brightness "flares" for a second. THIS NEVER HAPPENS WHEN I'M JUST WATCHING TV. So the screen will get brighter for 1 second and go back to normal. It happened repeatedly last night when I was watching a movie. It's not a new DVD player, and it's certainly not a blue-ray player.
Have you heard of this before? Is the problem my DVD player?
Thanks,
Craig
I'm looking for a TV that will only be used to watch movies and big sporting events. I perfer the look of plasma over lcd but the price point of the DLP is hard to pass up. I like more natural looking picture rather than dejudder modes. Suggestions?
I just bought three Samsung products and all three products are a problem:
1) A new 46' 850 Samsung TV that has IR Interference with my cable box, the LN46A850 (This IR interference is a Samsung problem as stated by Samsung and many people with a new 850 TV).
2)A Home Theater System (HT-BD2E) that is shown on the Samsung web as being able to connect to the SWA-4000 wireless connection. On the web there is the option to select Accessories on the web page for this system. It goes straight to the SWA-400 wireless connection device states that it works with " any of our home cinema systems," (see below). This is not true. After buying the home theater system and the wireless connection Samsung takes No responsibility for this misinformation on the web. This attitude by Samsung is representative of a company that would willful keep selling a TV that can have an IR interference problem without warning consumers.
From the Web:
SWA-4000
Wireless receiver
The days of running wires to the back of your room are over. Just add this compact rear-channel amplifier to any of our home cinema systems, and enjoy full surround sound with less setup hassle. The SWA-4000 receives rear-channel audio signals wirelessly from your system's main unit. Just connect the two rear speakers to the amp to experience exciting multi-channel sound.

I have a 61 inch DLP, 6168 I think. I had the classic blue lines on the side, and I must say, Samsung stepped up and fixed it even after the warrantee expired. That was excellent service. Motivated me to continue to sing the praises.
But, I have a new challenge here only a couple of months after the light engine was replaced. Out of nowhere, the screen spilts. On the left is a heavily pixilated tv show, and on the right, a grayscal/black/negative still image. Both inputs to the box are HDMI, and both behalf this way.
I've read through some other online forums (3 hours of techies telling each other how to fix problems) and found 3 or 4 of the exact same problems. However, no one provided a solution or even any guidance. Is this a light engine, lamps, controller board, etc? I love the picture on my TV, but a new one can be had for $1500 now and I am out of warrantee. If its a light engine, I expect Samsung would be willing to fix the one they just put in. If something else, it might be time for me spend that stimulus money.
Help!
I've just purchased a 67" Samsung HDTV (HL67A750A1F)and Samsung HT-TZ512T home theater/DVD. I have Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HDC cable box. I have connected together the DVD to TV with HDMI and just used cables provided by Time Warner cable to connect cable box to DVD. Please advise me what cables I need to purchase to get the best possible audio & video from this equipment. I am thrilled with the quality of the DVD as played through the surround sound. I would also like to connect my Wii to this system. I made myself crazy with all the wiring diagrams, PLEASE HELP...
thanks
Hi,
We recently purchased a Samsung LCD 52" HDTV and have no regrets. The only thing is we noticed it is not as clearly defined as we initially expected. So, we went out to buy an HDMI cable and still don't really notice a difference. We just bought cheaper HDMI cables that were about $30 made by Phillips from walmart. Would it make that much of a difference if we had better cables or not? And do we need a DVI cable? what exactly is the difference between HDMI & DVI cables? Also, we have connected our PVR, our DVD and a satellite. What should be connected to what first and does it make a differernce? PLEASE HELP! thanks!
Hello there. I would like to "hook up" the internet to this tv. Not sure if I need to go wireless or hard wire. Will want to stream the internet receive emails etc. This an older tv about 1.5 years since purchase. Any ideas?
I am in the process of sizing up my options for a blu ray player. I recently read the review of the Samsung BD-P1600 and am leaning toward it.
The only thing holding me back is this: Can the BD-P1600 play DVD'd from other regions? I have a medium sized collection of region 2 DVD's (I am from Ireland and I'm a German teacher) and I would like to have a simple all in one player to play my (potential) Blu-Ray discs and DVD's.
I just want to make it clear, I am only interested in the DVD region issue as I will likely only be buying Blu-Rays here (the US).
Any and all help is very much appreciated!
Thanks!
