I have a Toshiba Satellite P15-S420 laptop with WindowsXP and WMP 11.
Lately when playing media (on line videos and wmvs from the media library) on the media player the sound will stop and the only way to get the sound back is to re-boot the laptop.
A friend put on the free version of AVG virus protection. Could this have something to do with this problem?
Any help would greatly be appreciated.
99.9% of the time, installing AVG Free (or ANY Anti-virus software) wouldn't affect your sound.
Ask your friend if he/she did anything ELSE to your system while installing AVG...!
You may want to try just re-installing the sound drivers, or updating them.
