A little comment about the 4th Gen Nano Review

by fooldog01 - 9/11/08 10:39 AM

Does anyone else find it aggravating that reviewers are calling this new nano "better looking" and claim th elast gen was "squatty" or ugly?

Its totally subjective. I personally find the previous gen Nano to be a more attractive and utilitarian design but I am not going to go around saying that the new on is uglier as if it is a statement of fact. I know other who feel the same about it too.

Just wanted to vent I guess.

Although somewhat dated, the word "kindred" comes to mind.

I agree.
The CNet reviewers are only calling it "more comfortable to grasp" because they're used to the tall, skinny design. I know this from experience. I can't hold the new iPods properly anymore because I'm used to the 3g design, which I think is smaller and cuter.
Another note to those who call the 3g iPod fat: Do you derive any form of pleasure out of calling a piece of metal fat? Today's society has enough actual problems about obesity that we don't need to extend such insults to mp3s.

nano 4G compatiblity with sound dock question

by chuckcoe - 7/2/09 10:58 AM In reply to: A little comment about the 4th Gen Nano Review by fooldog01

I'm trying to decide whether to buy a nano 4G to replace my stolen mini, and read it won't charge in my Bose Sound Dock. You have any experience with that, or suggestions?

The 3G nano IS fugly

by make_or_break - 7/4/09 9:49 PM In reply to: A little comment about the 4th Gen Nano Review by fooldog01

I was a big fan of the styling of the 2G nano; I thought the stubby look of the 3G version was a big setback, despite the larger media screen. I give my wife a bad time about her 3G unit (which btw she loves); she simply tells me to grow up and get over it. Of course I'm too immature to do that. :) To think that after 23 years of marriage she'd figured that out by now.

Even though I don't own a 4G (or even care to, mostly because I think they sound lousy), it does return to the svelte look that the 1G and 2G nanos brought to the retail table.

And to think that I didn't even need CNET's own opinion to formulate my own...

Nano and ipods integrated with snowboards

Has anybody heard about skull candy teaming up with burton to integrate their mp3 players into the very lining of thier snowboarding jackets? I picked up some new Burton Snowboards for next season from this store and the guy doing the chat thier told me about this for the 2010 season. Not sure if it is true but it would be cool.
