For everyone to understand, I have years of experience with Windows, and would NEVER go to anything else. I love Microsoft and Vista and no one should wait until Version 7 to go to Vista. First and foremost XP is outdate in updates and security, so you should NEVER wait to go to the next version which will use the Vista kernel but have significant updates, upgrades and features necessary for contemporary computing that ONLY Windows can offer. You should always do a full erase and restore of the hard drive every year and when you go to version 7, you need the FULL install, NOT an update. The same with Vista. There you have it, and keep your computer updated, use PC Pitstop Optime and PC Pitstop Disk MD and Norton Internet Security 2009 and CCleaner and you will never have any real problems at all.
I get it but what if the person's computer isn't fast enough to run Vista? (knowing that the almighty beast takes up a lot of resources). Perhaps waiting for Windows7 to come out will help them save money? Considering Windows 7 doesn't even take half of what Windows Vista takes (from what I've experienced thus far)... I'd feel safer staying with the same computer and just booting Windows 7 when it comes out on retail.
Just a thought.
