Circuit City Stores, the nation's second-biggest consumer electronics retailer, reached an agreement with liquidators on Friday to sell the merchandise in its 567 U.S. stores after failing to find a buyer or a refinancing deal.
The company, which employs more than 30,000 employees, said in court papers it has appointed Great American Group, Hudson Capital Partners, SB Capital Group and Tiger Capital Group as liquidators.

well, can't say I'm surprised...but this isn't *completely* good news for Best Buy either though if consumption is super low...
Gadget deal-hunters/vultures/scavengers must be heading to their local store to get the best deals...such is the circle of (retail business) life.

I was on the verge of tears when I heard... and then I was promptly over it As much as I loved them, I am even more excited for the juicy deals. I'll probably be down there starting tomorrow and once a week or so till the end. Time to spend all that Christmas cash.

Once the liquidators take over, they raise prices to what they originally sold for, and discount that. So maybe you're getting a bargain, and maybe you're not. And you won't be able to return it.

They'll go down 10 or so percent every week, so in a week or two it will be worth it. But who knows, tomorrow there could be good deals. It'll be better than the partial liquidation of CC in the fall.
