Samsung 52a750 and HDMI

by it3fergie - 1/16/09 3:17 AM

I bought my TV from Best Buy earlier this week and the guy there talked me into a HDMI cord that was about 100 bucks. It said on the box that it is 120hz. The HDMI cord is a Rocketfish cord. However, when i had time the next day i started to look for cords online since they are normally alot cheaper. I started to find out that people were saying there is no such thing as 120hz HDMI cables or that they dont show a better picture than the 60hz cords.

My question is....Is this true? I bought 3 of the Xtreme HD cords from Apple, and they are only 19.99 a piece. Most people online that i found said that they are some of the best for the money.

Are these as good of cords as people make them out to be on the internet? The only Specs i can find on them is this....

Specifications

Features
Connects HDMI capable A/V components with
one cable
Provides maximum bandwidth for all resolutions up to 1080p and beyond
24k gold-plated connectors ensure
maximum conductivity
Durable rubber overmolding protects cable and connector from strain and wear
Meets the latest HDMI specification and is compatible with all HDMI devices

Thanks in advance for any advice.

HDMI in my opinion

You might try Amazon.com next time. I have purchased several HDMI cables from its site, and I have never been disappointed. The cables are as cheap as ten dollars and work very well. And you can return them without a lot of hassle, if one of the cables doesn;t function properly. I am not a Samsung tech, but I know cheaper cables are purchased by geeks and techs from Amazon.com all the time.
I hope this info helps. BestBuy should lower its head in shame!

Yah im a big fan of Amazon.com and normally i go for the high dollar, but I know that Monster cables on the higher ends do provide a much better signal quality i just dont want to spend the money now on them. That and newegg.com has some good prices on stuff. I just dont know about the 60hz and 120hz.
