Searching for "how-to" guides
by cdharris - 1/12/09 9:52 AMI do not know where else to post this so I will put it here. I have been trying to find some help or "how-to" information on CNet in regard to ripping CDs and other procedures. I know that CNet has posted articles, "guides" and other helpful information on all these subjects and many others in the past but I cannot find them. When I use the "search" at the top of every page, it only gives a list of related products (hardware or software) and does not seem to ever list any of the guides or articles. Where are all the older help articles and "how-to" guides and how do I get to them? Thanks.

The Cnet Tips and Tricks department was eliminated last year due to budget cuts and most of the content was archived. More recently the user tips section was removed as a featured information base, largely due to subpar content. Those guides which remain still appear in the search results, but are displayed under the "Related News" category in the right-hand column along with traditional news items. Try clicking the "see all news" link to browse for the desired guides, provided they are still available.

Thanks. As I recall, there were some very good tips and advice in those articles. Sorry they didn't continue them.
