Downloading movies onto a Sony 8 gig mp3/video/fm 700 series

movies onto my mp3 player. It's a new Sony 8 gig 700 series
mp3 player/video/fm. Software included the Microsoft Media
11 ungrade. And do I need a converter program to convert and
copy DVD's... Instructions say very little about this subject.

Some programs will will do both. Unfortunately for reasons I've already stated in response to your previous post, I can't go into more detail.

I've already mentioned on your other posting that breaking copy protection on DVDs is illegal in the United States. You would need to do this in order to to make a copy of a commercial DVD to put on your player. Further discussion with more detail may violate the terms of use on this website and result in your thread being locked or deleted.
That said, I will point you to an article from PC Magazine that was a little bit helpful to me. I have usually cite this aricle when answering a similar question to yours. The article is a little old, but the details are still relevant. This may not be the solution for you, but may point you in the right direction.

I have a couple of Sony players myself, but I don't use the software that came with them. I misplaced the disks, so I don't know what they came with. I either use Windows Media Player or Rhapsody (since they were already on my computer). For videos, I just drag and drop through Windows Explorer.
