I'll just assume everyone uses Digsby
, but...
Do you still IM?
Has Texting or Twitter replaced it?
If you still do, on what service?
just curious...

ps: i still use AOL on digsby, but now i have more and more friends on facebook im and gmail chat... i rarely use aol anymore, but that's where all my friends still are. and i defifitely im a lot less than i used to...
I count Twitter as a IM service since it can be used on the desktop as well as the phone.
I still have a AIM and MSN chat names (never got into the services but one or two people i know are on it)
I use Yahoo because I browse around the groups but I don't have many reasons to stay. (most are gone/inactive)
I used to use trillian but refuse to pay for a IM client so i Use Gaim (AKA Pidgin)
I still use MIRC for a game chatroom.
I Twitter ( http://twitter.com/Mementh ) all the time.
The one thing I find is that my social networks have moved based on my interests, right now its mainly chatting with friends from the Runescape Group I am in (only reason I keep Pidgin running now a days)
And the Runecape IRC chat room from tip.it.
Other then that its Cnet contacts on twitter and celebs like Leo that I follow. (Wonder if he will have a party while his wife is stuck in France)
I use MSN/WLM all the time to chat to my friends, and Google Chat too (in iChat). I used to text all the time, but cut back on that in favour of IM/phone calls.
They all have their place but Twitter is the least useful to me. Its just too public. And I just don't; have time to read other people's tweets all day. If someone needs to ask me a question I'd prefer they just ask me via SMS or email or even a phone call.
i just think IM = instant message and it did not matter how many people saw it.
I use IM all the time, in Australia MSN is by far the most popular client, i have barely any friends who are active on Yahoo, or Skype, and AIM is practically unheard of.
Mark the Australian.
Another popular one in Oz is ICQ, but I don't use that service. MSN is enough for my IM purposes. ![]()
Skype has become established as the IM of choice in my circle of friends -- we use it much more for IMing than for voice calls. I almost never use MSN or any of the other protocols because virtually nobody I know uses them. I also text quite a lot, but only when not at the computer.
now if i could only convince my friends to use skype... or even video!

Texting on the phone has totally replaced AIM. Every month or so I get on AIM to see what looser from college is still changing her away message. Then I log on to facebook update my status, then follow a celeb on twitter. Oh, wait, yeah, I'm a loser too.
I rely on IM, it is the main means by which I contact people.
A better question would be, do I still email people, now that I got IM, and twitter, facebook everything else.
Even though I am in my 40s, I did get into AIM and sometimes Yahoo chat, but not any more. I now use facebook mostly. I keep trying to use twitter but it does not work for me. Maybe because not too many of my friends know what twitter is.
I don't think many people are using Digsby, Adium, or whatever all-in-one client is the flavor of the week. A lot of people are still stuck on one system simply because their friends are.
