I have been having trouble installing this, and I need new anti-virus software. I go to download it, and then try to install it. I have XP home edition, and the file has been saved as "index.php". I haven't had problems downloading and installing programs before, but windows will not install it because it cannot recognize the type of file, so i asks me to select a program to use the file. What should I do now?
I would still like to know whats going on, but in the meantime i downloaded it directly from avg, so i now have it installed. From avg it was a ".exe" file
I had the same problem. But when I went to the AVG site, I couldn't find the free version, only the trial versions. If you happen to have the URL with the free version, would you please post it?
Thanks.
Never mind, I found it. For anyone else who may have this issue, go to free.avg.com but don't click on the download link, which takes you to the CNET download with the .php file. Scoll to the bottom and click on "Download from AVG directly."
Cheers.
thanks for the advice. this was just what i needed (dled it directly from avg) and it worked. awesome.
