If one person in the house goes to a site and there is a potential threat for viruses, can the other computers be infected through the network. I have a wireless adapter connected to the 2nd computer. Both have anti virus software on them, and are current. I also need to connect up another computer with a wireless adapter, will the speed be ok for all three or do I need to up the speed on the main computer. I have internet through my phone company. ALl three computers are windows xp.
Please let me know. very urget fix needed soon.

one for the main input and then the other two connect into that.
you allow others only on the open router/play router and your computer is safe and secure on the one by itself.
Its possable if two computers are on the same router to get infected or have DNS spoofing issues.
But if you seperate like that they are both isolated from each other and viruses and such have a hard time going through the main router and second router.
Configureing such a thing to allow port forwarding or such would be a slight bother no matter what so.. your choice, weigh your risks as to who your letting on the network.

just don't make the primary router a wireless one and the others should be using diffrent channels (i think ) and diffrent keys
