and it has locked me out from changing it. Initially, I was unable to access my task manager screen until I ran Windows onecare scan. it cleared up the virus but I still cannot get into my regedit (it states registry editing has been blocked by your adminstrator). My background change occurred as a part of this virus....
Any suggestions on how to get back to where it once was?

Wow thanks for the quick reply
I anticipated that it would take several hours before someone replied so I continued scouring the forum board for similar issues. I found one close but not ntirely the same and it suggested that that person run a system restore point. Since I had tried this while I had this virus I didn't thnik to run it again post virus. As soon as I did the regedit and background lock out problem remedied itself.

try e-commander software/program to access taskmgr or your regedits, this program will provide you rights to access anything even if youre not the administrator...
