Archiving 25 years of home videos

I have videos in VHS 8mm, and minidv tape formats. When the first DVR recorders came out a few years ago, I copied most to DVD discs. Is that still the best way to go? Can these be copied to SDHC cards and stored?

But flash memory can become expensive, especially for 25 years worth of video.
