Last week my computer started freezing up..Reboot fixed the problem however; today this happened and now the darn thing will not boot up....
I have tried last known config and safe mode and still nothing....I tried to boot to several Acronis recovery disc to reload a back up image but it will not boot.... I had friend bring over his Visa disc and it will not boot...

If you get it also after booting from the Vista DVD (that includes knowing that you really boot from it, not just put the DVD in and still boot from the hard disk, which can happen if the BIOS is set to boot from the HD first) it uses the drivers from the DVD, and that proves that it's a hardware issue.
Remove everything you can (like sound card, USB-card, firewire card, all USB-connected devices, all RAM-sticks but one) and try again. If the problems persist it's a hardware error in an essential component (motherboard, remaining RAM, CPU, hard disk). Then it's time to visit the repair shop.
