I just purchased A new laptop with Vista basic, my old laptop had XP, how do I remove Vista and replace with XP
This has been discussed many times, so do a search.
The very short version is you have to track down XP drivers, then format the system, reinstall XP. Of course on plenty of newer systems, especially lower end ones, XP drivers may or may not exist making it impossible to install XP in any sort of workable way.
I just went thru this on a desktop.....Basically its a hardware issue....Like the other poster said do a search on here or just Google it there is plenty of info out there.... I have to tell you that the time spent in my case i could have bought 3 new puters with Xp already on them however; if you are looking for a very intensive project this would be a good one...

Get ready for lots and lots of trial and error........
Put in your Windows XP boot disc in your CD tray, reboot.
It will prompt your Windows XP, then you need to reformat the disc's partition so you can install XP on it.. That's how I do it.
