I'm loving my Asus Eee 1000H so far, but I just ran Core Temp and it looks like the Atom N270 is running at around and usually just under 70 degrees Celsius. That seems to be quite hot for an energy efficient CPU, doesn't it?
Thanks in advance, as always.
My solder iron can hit over 1,000 F and it's all of 15 Watts. The Atom is all of 2.5 Watts so why would you care about the temp if everything is working?
Yup, I have the Acer Aspire One.

When I visit youtube my CPU runs over 80 C.
Share your source on this.
Also my Acer didn't come with any CPU temp monitoring. But why are you looking at this? Is your atom crashing?

There are more, but 60-70 are always what I come across. I'm asking about this because I'm curious. There's a lot of heat rising from the keyboard, so I decided to check the CPU temp for the heck of it.
I use Core Temp.
Wasn't at your link. How about this idea. Some silicon chips are rated at over 100C. The ubiquitous LM7805 for example at http://www.fairchildsemi.com/ds/LM/LM7805.pdf has an operating temperature up to 125C. That's very hot.
Just for the heck of it find Intel's pdf on this.

Table 6 says storage temperature should be between 0 and 85 C. If Core Temp is right I'm hitting 85 when running YouTube.
Ask what's failing here. If the machine works, fine. If you feel they have a design flaw, call it in or go get something else.
-> Let me be clear that no laptop I know of today has a surface you can't find a warm spot on. All generate some heat. If you are looking for a room temperature laptop, I have yet to find such.

I'm sorry, but although I've always found you informative and knowledgeable, you're making this forum quite unpleasant.
Sorry but I was trying to find "the problem."
Sometimes it takes a few tries as not everyone uses English so I'll try to find the issue in different ways.
-> So far you have not declared "the problem is ____________." Maybe you are looking for a laptop that hasn't been made yet?
