I want one that I can store all my photos on and do my banking and shop on line. I want it fast with not a lot on the start up. Don't know what will accomplish this. Thanks for any advice.

I recommend you not buy a mass produced computer as they are not true computers, there are missing components that software makes up for.
Do yourself a favor, and Google computer shops in your area. (custom)
go there and tell them what you want and, they will build you a better computer then you can get from mass produced companies, it may not be as pretty but I'm sure you will be happier with a custom build.
And practically all present PC's will be able to do at least what you need and probably much more.
The PC recommended in post #2 above (that will ALL CAPS) clearly is too much and too expensive for your needs. And I don't agree with the distrust in #3 for standard PC's from big makers as Dell or HP. There's nothing wrong with the advice to have it custom built by a trusted local shop, if you have such a shop nearby. But if you don't, there's nothing wrong also with going to dell.com and configuring a basic machine on their site. If you face any questions doing that, just post here for advice.

I ordered a studio desktop from Dell. I configured an inspiron 530 on line and then the rep helped me with a few things I had not thought of. I ended up getting more computer for the same amount of money. It has what I need and more. I figure it will last a long time. Can't wait for it to arrive.
thanks again,

Let's hope everything turns out as you hope. Sometimes it just doesn't.

sounds like you might be thinking I made a mistake?????
I wouldn't have recommended it, if I had any reason to distrust it.
