I've heard about Twitter for some time, never felt I needed it. The other day my favorite radio station RealRadio.FM talked about it and I was interested.
After registering into the Twitter website I became disenchanted. I was hoping that I'd be able to create groups; family, friends, co-workers... just like an IM application.
I browsd the site some more and I found many 3rd party applications that I assume are what I'm looking for but, I haven't found any site that has reviewed this software.
Any suggestions?
There's no grouping functionality that's actually appeared (yet) natively in Twitter, but for general Twitter use, I use Twitterific (on my MacBook), and Twhirl is a pretty decent client that runs on both Windows and Mac, though I'm unsure about Linux. Hope that helps!
they're not super efficient at rolling out new features. However, I do believe groups are coming. Eventually. At some point. Someone else might very well have programmed a way to use groups, but I've not heard of one in any case. Programming is useful, I just wish I knew a few more languages, and was better at the ones I do know!
Tweetdeck allows you to create groups. It's run on Adobe's Air.

Thanks NavSimpson... I'll check it out tomorrow... watching the SEC Championship. Go Gators! ![]()
I was also looking for the grouping feature but I found out in a recent press conference that the CEO mentioned they were working on groups and other things.
