Anyone have a suggestion for a site for the best deal on a cheap camcorder? I found this site and it seems ok.

I believe the old adage that you generally get what you pay for. I just purchased this item as a gift for my wife: http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/product_detail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=1408474396673011&bmUID=1227372069744&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524443308567&assortment=primary&fromSearch=true
I haven't opened it so may yet return it. The worst problem is that it's basically a no name product and as such there is no support out there other than email to the manufacturer. The obvious drawback is that it has no optical zoom. As for video quality and whether or not it is any good in dim light, that remains to be seen. I have an idea of what I will probably get for $120. That being said, I had a look at video from a similar camera that a relative bought from Canadian Tire at a similar price and was impressed with the resolution on the pc lcd panel. You could definitely see a big improvement over the video with my Canon EX-Z750 that cost $489 two year ago and my wife's cheaper Kodak C713. That's probably why I grabbed this one when I saw it in this week's flyer; although I don't know whether my relative's camera is also made by Mercury or bears any resemblance to this one, just that it looks similar and has the same resolution and came from Canadian Tire.
