Windows Vista: IE Freeze
IE Freeze

After being on the Internet for an extended period time or opening multiple pages or tabs IE basically freezes and will allow nothing more to occur. Has anyone else had this problem?

A little more information about your computer brand name and the type of internet connection you're using would help.
Have you installed all the Vista related Windows Updates including the reliability updates?

Have you tried a different browser such as the free Firefox? (Does it continue with Firefox which can be downloaded from the link below:
http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/
Tired installing an updated ethernet driver? (or wireless driver if you're using a wireless connection)
Does temporarily disabling your firewall help the situation?

Unfortunately, the only solutions I've seen suggest trying Firefox - a sad comment on MS's preferred browser on their flagship OS.

The first day I started using it I noticed this problem that you all have mentioned above. Especially with Internet Explorer it seems as though you cannot open more than 7 windows/tabs then the images or website just doesnt show up. The website doesn't even attempt to load.
I also noticed if I have multiple applications running or programs running this also impacts the performance of the machine and the IE windows. For example, if I have Itunes, AIM, Outlook, and Excel open. Then I go to open IE and open say three separate windows, the second and third windows will not load at all, just blank white. Or if I click on the IE icon it won't do anything. I can't even open Documents at this point or any file/program for that matter. I almost seems as though the RAM is completely full and cannot handle that many running applications.
I had a slower laptop with Windows XP and I could have 20 IE windows open and never had a problem. I don't want to have to use Mozilla on my brand new computer. There has to be some type of issue with RAM not being allocated correctly. Do you think this could be it? Do these performance updates from Microsoft really make alot of difference?
What should I do? Thanks!
Frankly? Call Dell and ask for a XP downgrade package.
