Looking for a new mp3 player

by blueyes121705 - 11/5/08 5:50 AM

I am looking for advice on picking out a new mp3 player. I am previously a Creative V Plus user. I want something that can handle abuse, sweat from working out, and the occasional fall. Something I can easily flip through while running when I want to change songs or turn up the volume. Prefer 8GBS, can use limewire with it, and various music formats. I AM NOT LOOKING AT IPODS, so don't even bother trying to convince me. I would love an external volume control but it looks like no one makes these anymore, odd??? Any advice would be great. Thanks, M

Currently only available in 2 or 4GB in the U.S., but an 8GB will be making an appearance soon.

Killer sound quality, and has the other features you want.

MP3 RECOMMENDATION

I have been pleased with my 16G Sansa MP3 player. It is tough; it survives my horse licking on it. Sound quality is not bad for the bucks. No Ipods for me and my horse!

but i would say a decent pair of ear-phones make all the differencr

my 'no name' player came with pod type (which hurt like heck after 30 minutes), i bought a pair of Teac (a sort of back of the neck brace with a volume control button) and it made all the difference

Samsung has some really nice ones that can be used for other functions including FM radio, voice recording, picture storage, videos, etc.
and they're very small.

Ok, I wont mention the Ipod – promise! I’ve had my Creative Labs Muvo NX Mp3 player for ages and it’s still going strong!!. It's really solid, so you don’t have to worry it about bouncing around as it can stand quite a hammering (which can’t be said of all mp3’s) It has the basic playback features (shuffle, reverse, etc.). It also doubles as a USB flash drive, which comes in handy. It comes with two 'battery bases', headphones (earbud style), a belt clip, and an arm strap. Saying all that, there are a few draw backs, its not the most beautiful mp3 player I’ve ever seen and I must admit that It would be good to have mp3 video – Time to change!
I think that the best thing to do is to narrow your choice down to 3-4 products, find information on them and compare them (features/prices/reviews/etc). There are tons of reviews and articles that have been written about MP3 players, it shouldn't be hard to track down your mp3.
