Video converter

by cmsb1214 - 4/12/07 6:26 AM

What is a good, free video converter for converting AVI to MP4? Is there one that can convert more video formats and rip DVDs too?

MP4 is not a firm standard.

While free converters are plentiful it may matter what you intend to play it on. But I use VIRTUAL DUB since it has the control I want.

As to DVD rips, I decline to discuss that since you could use google.com

Cheers,

I believe Super does it.

It takes a while to find the download. But it converts pretty much every format to another.

Iffy. I find mention of Radlight (old spyware!)

There are other discussions too but the bottomline is to approach this one with heavy suspicion. Set the firewall to maximum and see if Ewido/other spyware scanners set off alarms.

I'll try it on a machine soon and report back.
