by bucknskip - 10/31/08 6:44 PMI am running ZoneAlarm Security Suite. I do not have any other antivirus or antispyware. I am unable to access hotmail or windows live. "login.live.com is taking too long to respond." (Firefox3) Unable to reach server (IE7). I have not blocked the site. I have disabled cooki and ad blocking in both browsers. Any suggestions?

I have tried all of the fixes at Windows Live and tried uninstalling Zone Alarm and still get the time-out I get error code 80048820 and extended error code 80048439 (this is not listed under any of the help sections). It doesn't matter whether I use firefox or ie7. Any thoughts? I only get automated replies form Microsoft. Thanks.

It's possible that the MSN server is having problems.
Also try clearing out your temporary files and see if that helps.
I use CCleaner.

Right click on IE Tab(at bottom of the status bar), when you go to the Hotmail login page, then left click add, left click apply. Now double click on the orange world and make sure it switched to the blue e, then login.

Have seen several other posts this week saying similar tales of woe!
