I sure can see no benefit to VISTA Home Premium 64 bit over XP. Nonetheless, here are my questions:
1) Going to control panel and power settings, I cannot find a place to set the computer to hibernate. When I first got the computer, when I went to shut it down, hibernating was an option - then it disappeared. How can I get it to re-appear? I tried a system restore and that did no good.
2) Files and Folders in "My Documents" that have been added since the initial data transfer using a memory stick go into my documents correctly but they are displayed in random order - neither by file/folder type nor alphabetical order. What could cause this - is there a fix?
3)With AOL and McAfee Virus Scan I run over 70 process even after doing an "uncheck" of most of the boxes in the startuup section after doing an MSCONFIG. It initially was running over 80 process. The "Geek Squad" tech at BestBuy told me it is normal for Vista to run at least 20 more processes than XP to do the same things. Is this accurate? If so, I sure understand why this computer (on sale for $649 - now $799) with AMD Turion Dual Core Mobile prosessor RM-70 comes standard with 4GB of RAM.
Also, is there no longer a place where our CNET personal profile allows us to input the specs of our computers so others can give advice based on system configuration?
