best headphones

by egarren - 1/10/07 2:59 PM

I was thinking of getting the following headphones, do you have any suggestions? I want to make sure that they are noise isolating or at least noise reducing, and good sound quality; however price is not such a big deal as long as it is under $60. Thanks!
-sennheiser cx300
-shure e2
-sony mdr-nc11
-sony mdr-ex71
-philips shn2500
-jbuds hi-fi
-xtrememac ipd-fse-00 fs1
-creative ep-630

Under 60 dollars???

Forget a good pair of noise cancelling at that price. Check out the Grado SR60s at about 70 bucks. Not noise cancelling, but by far the best set at anywhere near that price. The ear pads will block out most ambient noise.

Soundwise for best sound?

by DrPop5467 - 3/10/07 6:06 AM In reply to: best headphones by egarren

Hi I am a bit of an earphone junky here is my views in brief

sennheiser cx300 - not bad but a bit overpriced
-shure e2 - Better but even more overpriced
-sony mdr-nc11 -crap
-sony mdr-ex71 - ok sound, but poor build quality
-philips shn2500 - don't know
-jbuds hi-fi - don't know
-xtrememac ipd-fse-00 fs1 - ok build quality but bad seperation
-creative ep-630 - similar to cx300 but less bass, tend to be cheaper

Also try Soundwise T4 it looks just like the cx300 and the Ep-630, but has better accoustics. Also Soundwise G3 and M8 are really good value. Read the review at www.lordpercy.com

Honestly, I personally prefer Sony and Apple Earphones. They are clear, beautiful, and perfectly fits your ears.

From your choices below, I would pick Sony mdr-nc1l, but I would also suggest to you the Apple Earphones that are included when you get a iPod (You can also buy them seperately from apple store.

You should visit the Apple and Sony official website if you haven't:
www.apple.com
www.sony.com

Thanks.

Have you guys tried Cresyn earphones? I see they are available in the UK now. I have seen rave reviews on them and valued your reviews as your other reviews seem acurate
