I, too, would like a portable hybrid...maybe someone will invent one..maybe with little modules you can buy to plug in what you want and swap them. For example, today I want AM/FM/XM and carry the iPod and WiFi modules in the back pack or something. I'm just in the I-wish-someone-would-think-of-this but not for a million dollars brain-storming stage.
(Maybe Herrington will ship one to me for cheap, now that I've mentioned it....even with a giant dent, I wouldn't mind. Ha ha ha)
